Clean Desk for macOS
Write to hello@cleandesk.me. Say which macOS version you use and, if you can, copy the line from Recent in the menu.
Getting started
Clean Desk lives in the menu bar, not in the Dock. Click its icon, open Settings, choose the folder to clean (usually your Desktop) and the folder to move items into, then click Clean Now or pick a schedule.
Something was not moved
- Hidden files, unfinished downloads, names you excluded and anything changed in the last few minutes are left alone on purpose.
- An item stored only in iCloud is downloaded first. If iCloud cannot download it, it stays where it is and the run says why.
- If the archive folder was moved, renamed or is on a disconnected drive, choose it again in Settings.
Putting items back
Undo Last Clean in the menu puts the items from the last clean back where they were. Items you have since moved or deleted in the archive are reported, not guessed at.
Removing Clean Desk
Quit it from the menu, delete it from Applications, and delete ~/Library/Containers/com.katlenok.CleanDesk. Your archived items stay where they are.
