Clean Desk
A small menu bar app for macOS that keeps your Desktop clear. On a schedule, it moves what piles up there into dated folders in a folder you choose on your Mac.

What it does
- Runs daily, weekly, every few hours, or only when you click Clean Now in the menu bar.
- At the top of the folder it cleans, it leaves alone hidden files, unfinished downloads, anything changed in the last few minutes, and names you exclude. A folder it moves goes with its contents.
- Sorts what it moves into folders by day, by month, or by year › month › day.
- Shows how many items are waiting, the next run and the recent runs.
Private by design
Clean Desk sends your files nowhere: it only moves them between folders on your Mac. It has no server of its own and no accounts, analytics or ads. If it crashes or hangs, it sends a crash report with no file names or paths to Sentry, our crash-reporting service. The details are in the privacy policy.
Requirements
macOS 13 or later. Clean Desk is not yet available for download.
